Background

Gratafy (acquired by Inmar Intelligence) transforms the way brands engage with consumers through a conversational commerce platform that bridges the gap between online and offline purchases.

Role

I collaborated with a creative and product director on UX design, mobile UI design, prototyping, testing, and launching a chatbot based product sampling platform.

Problem

Fortune 500 brands struggle to connect 1:1 with consumers and have difficulty tracking the effectiveness of sampling campaigns.

Historically, alcohol-beverage and CPG brands have been unable to successfully connect consumer messaging with in-store product sampling, often relying on outdated methods like sponsored events at bars and mail-in coupon rebates at retailers.

Gratafy's platform enables brands to connect directly with consumers through chatbots on Messenger and SMS to promote offers that get people trying their products in bars, restaurants, and retailers.

Absolut
Bartender Bot

Absolut used Gratafy to launch one of Facebook Messenger's first major chatbots – an experience that let consumers try an Absolut cocktail and get a Lyft home in select-cities

Consumers engaged with the Absolut Facebook page and selected their city to see bars that were participating in the promotion

After choosing a bar, consumers open a mobile webview to view their unique Gratafy code and redeem with a bartender

A proud moment for the team and I was when David Marcus, former Head of Facebook Messenger, announced our bot at Techcrunch Disrupt

Budweiser
This Bud's for You

Budweiser used Gratafy’s platform to launch a campaign in select-cities to let consumers try a Budweiser at their local bar

Consumers engaged with the Budweiser Facebook page and selected their city to see bars that were participating in the promotion

After choosing a bar, consumers open a mobile webview to view their unique Gratafy code and redeem with a bartender

Snickers
Hunger Handoff

Snickers and the NFL launched a nationwide campaign with Gratafy to give away free SNICKERS® candy bars to consumers when specific plays happened during Monday Night Football

Consumers engage with the Snickers Facebook page through Messenger to subscribe for a chance to win free Snickers

When certain plays happened during Monday Night Football, consumers were notified and if they got there fast enough they’d win

Jameson
Love Thy Bar

Jameson Irish Whiskey launched a campaign with Anderson .Paak through Gratafy to help consumers try a Jameson cocktail in select-cities and get $8 back through PayPal

Consumers engaged with the Jameson Facebook page through Messenger and explored nearby bars

Consumers were asked to snap a picture of their receipt so we could validate that they purchased Jameson to qualify for the instant rebate
